California is a place full of many differing opinions. While some absolutely love it, others are content to stay as far away from the traffic and expensive living as possible. The Coast is Never Ending
If you’re planning to road trip, there is no better place to do it than along the Pacific Coast Highway. California alone has 840 miles of never-ending coastal views along the road. You could spend an entire summer taking your time driving down the water’s edge. Perhaps you’ll choose to go only 5 miles in the car one day, and then you’ll set up camp on the beach.
California is also home to fantastic white sand beaches, wine tasting tours, and luxury vacation rentals in Newport Beach.
Be mindful of where you camp, though. Some beaches require you to have a permit. You also have to have a permit to build a campfire-but that’s half of the fun, so go for it. Even if you’re not the camping type, there are beautiful places to stay right on the coast. It’s the ultimate dream vacation to never have to leave the sight of the ocean.
It’s the Home of Hollywood
It’s hard not to get excited at the prospect of getting to see the place where everything great ever happened in terms of entertainment and movies. You can really feel like you’re living the life of the stars when you walk down Hollywood Boulevard, see the walk of stars, and immerse yourself in the history that is Hollywood.
The sign itself is easy to see from almost everywhere in the city, though it’s rather hard to get close to take a picture. You’ll just have to resign to driving through Beverly Hills, circling Bel Air, driving down Rodeo Drive, and hoping that you just might catch a glimpse of the stars at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It’s quite an adventure.

It Has Every Terrain You Could Imagine
From north to south to east to west, California has it all in regard to terrain and scenery. Maybe one day you want to surf the ocean waves, but the next, you want to drive through Redwood forests. You can do that. Perhaps you want to hit Disneyland and drive a dune buggy in the desert…you can do that too.
California may be crowded and expensive, but the reason is that everybody knows that it’s the place to be. You don’t have to live there, but make it a destination to explore in 2016. You won’t regret it.
