NBA 2K22: 10 Things You Must Know

It's that time of the year again when another microtransaction-laden sequel arrives in Visual Concepts' NBA 2K series. NBA 2K22 will be available on September 10 th th th s for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It brings a new set of features and cover stars. Let's look at 10 things to know before you buy it.

Cover Stars

The various editions NBA2K22 are adorned by big stars. The Standard Edition's cover features Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks' two-time NBA All-Star. The 75th Anniversary Edition, illustrated by Charly Palmer, features three icons: Dirk Nowitzki (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Dirk Nowitzki (Kevin Durant) - all of whom have had a significant impact on the sport's 75-year history. Candace Parker, six-time All Star and two-time MVP of the Chicago Sky, will be the first female cover artist for the WNBA 25th anniversary Special Edition. It can be bought at GameSpot or EB Games. This is a much-needed recognition for the league, even though it's only available in the USA and Canada.

Gameplay Modifications

The NBA 2K title brings gameplay changes big and small. The new edition focuses on precision jump shots and dunking in traffic. It also features more skill-based signature moves and combinations. Shot contest and blocking have been redesigned to allow defenders to make an even bigger impact on the game. It was controversial to make changes to the Shot Meter last year so it will be interesting to see how gameplay is changed.

MyNBA and MyWBNA

NBA 2K22_02

Visual Concepts consolidated MyGM/MyLEAGUE into MyNBA for Xbox Series X/S or PS5. You can still manage an NBA franchise and make decisions such as trades, drafting, etc., but certain features like Conversations and Skills, Tasks and Morale, Chemistry and Scoring could be turned on or off. This made it easier to customize the experience for people who like Tasks and Skills but don't like reading. MyNBA will return with MyWBNA. While the details of the changes and features have not been fully explained, it is important to manage your team. It's only available for current-gen versions. Sorry, Xbox One, PC, and PS4 gamers.

MyCareer - Hidden Talents

MyCareer will be back as the place to create a character and work your way up to superstardom. Hidden Talents is one of the most interesting features. Last year, The Neighborhood was renamed The City. This feature is only available for PS5/X/S and provides other opportunities, such as fashion and hip-hop careers, which each provide their own returns. You can also expect a traditional story, which can be experienced by Switch, PS4 and PC players.

MyCareer - No Place Like Home

The new feature No Place Like Home is exclusive to MyCareer mode players. It is described as the "central" feature of a career's narrative. Your journey will determine how it evolves. It is still unclear how this will work, but it can be a great way to highlight one's achievements and hard work.

The City

The City will be getting several new features for Xbox Series X/S players and PS5 gamers. A new layout is available with MyPLAYERs and NPCs. There's also a quest system that rewards players for leveling up and gives them XP and rewards. Matchmaking was also added. This allows you to enter certain facilities in The City to play against other players in a variety game modes. Your progress will go towards your MyPLAYER profile. We are still working on more details, but we can assure that PC and older-generation players will not be forgotten.

2K Cruise

The City is available to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 users, but it's only for those who have the Xbox One, PS4, PC, or Nintendo Switch. It's basically the Neighborhood, but on a cruise boat with basketball courts that takes you to exotic destinations. Excursions to the beach and participation in events can be arranged by players. Although The City offers more benefits, players who are older than their generation still get a boat.

MyTEAM: Draft returns

MyTEAM: draft is a returning feature for all players. This allows you to select from a pool that keeps updating over the time and create an online match lineup. You can also earn MyTEAM Collection Rewards.

Seasons

MyTEAM will be further developed throughout the year through Seasons. Every Season will offer new challenges, events, and rewards for MyTEAM. You can expect additional modes, with a brand new one due to launch this holiday season. Visual Concepts and 2K Games have not yet confirmed the date of the first season. However, it is likely to be sometime around launch day, if at all.

Pre-Order bonuses, Standard and 75th anniversary editions

NBA-2K22

There are three editions, which means there is a lot of cover athletes. But those who know the franchise's antics well will also know that different bonuses come with each edition. Pre-ordering offers everyone a number of bonuses. Pre-orders include 5,000 virtual currency or VC, 5,000 MyTEAM points, 10 MyTEAM promo packs which are distributed once per week; boosts to each Gatorade Boost or MyCAREER Skill type, a MyPLAYER jersey and a MyTEAM free agent card for Doncic rated 95. The Standard Edition will be $60 on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 PC. It will also cost $70 on PS5/X/S.

The Xbox Series X/S 75th Anniversary Edition is $100 and includes the Xbox One and PS4 versions. The bonuses include 100,000 VC, 10,000 MyTEAM points, 10 MyTEAM tokens, 10 MyTEAM cards for Kareem AbdulJabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Durant, 22 MyTEAM Promo packs with 10 each at launch and 3 each week thereafter; a Diamond Jordan Shoe MyTEAM Card and a Coach Card pack; ten boosts for all MyCAREER Skill Boosts, Gatorade Boost types; four Cover Athlete teeboard and a custom-designed for MyPLAYER

Paid Upgrades & Cross-Gen Progression

This is not the end of price gouging. Cross-gen bundles cost $80 or the 75th Anniversary Edition for those who wish to upgrade from PS4/Xbox One to PS5/X/S. You can transfer your progress from one console to another (from the previous to the current gen or vice versa). This includes MyTEAM Points and MyTEAM Points as well as VC Wallet, MyTEAM Tokens, and MyTEAM Tokens.
