Five Metal Gear Enemies that Were Completely Strange

It is difficult to be original and confidently achieve it. Few gaming franchises have been able to do this as well as Metal Gear. __S.1__ This is something that's reflected in almost everything that has to do with the series. That also includes the enemies we've faced throughout the course the series. Here, we're going talk about the five strangest foes that we've ever met in Metal Geargames.

THE END

In many ways, The End is a perfect example of the ridiculousness Hideo Kojima adds to even the most ordinary of things. This is a specialist in sniper rifles. It's so simple, right? These are common in all kinds of games. Then you begin to add all the unique characteristics on top of this core and you find something...well, quite bizarre. While he is a skilled sniper, he is also more than 100 years old. He lived an extraordinary life, and was eventually infected by a mysterious parasite, which gave him superhuman abilities.

These abilities allowed him to become a better sniper and more importantly, he was able to stay still for unusually long periods of times, making him virtually invisible to his enemies, particularly from afar. How could he do this? Because of the moss that grew on his body and in his body, which allowed him photosynthesis, which allows him to draw energy like a plant. You find that strange enough? If that wasn't enough, he also has his pet parrot who wakes him up when he falls asleep during combat. The icing on top? The icing on the cake? You can just sit still for a while in the boss fight against The End and let him die from old age.

THE PAIN

Five Metal Gear Enemies that Were Completely Strange

Although The End is the most eccentric member of the Cobra Unit, which is quite a feat, his squadmates certainly give him a challenge. For example, take The Pain. He is a master at inflicting extreme punishments, but it comes at a high personal cost. His trick is to be able to control whole swarms. He does this by carrying a queen hornet in his backpack and using it as a guide for other hornets.

But that's not all. It's his use of the hornets that seals it all. He uses them to attack his foes. But he can get really creative. He can fire hornets out of his mouth to get them to burry in his enemies' skulls. He can also throw vials full of pheromones at them to direct them. He can command them to create a suit or armour around his body. Heck, he even can get them to make him a hornet-comprised decoy to fool his enemies. It doesn't matter if his face is covered in stings, wounds and scabs. He also has a regular gun, as well as grenades to prove that he isn't a total weirdo.

FATMAN

Five Metal Gear Enemies that Were Completely Strange

Fatman, despite his unkind nickname, isn't just a healthy man who may not pose a danger to you. He's devilishly smart, dangerously agile and mentally unstable. Kojima clearly saw the juvenile but undeniable humor in having a tall dude running around you in the middle of a boss fight. But to be fair, it accomplishes so many more. It is used to great effect in a boss fight that's really good, making Fatman quite formidable.

This is enough to ensure Fatman's place on any list. But his backstory contains some more unusual (and possibly even unneeded) details that add a cherry to the cake. His genius and expertise in bomb-making can be traced back to his childhood. He was just ten years of age when he created an atomic bomb by reading a guide on the internet. Either he had a really good guide or he was incredibly intelligent. He likes to keep his hands soft and smooth, and he keeps getting manicures. This is a characteristic that makes him unique.
