The Fall to Winter season is usually very big for games and that still holds true tihs year despite the number of titles delayed to 2022. September looks packed with 20 games to check out, including RPGs, platformers and adventure titles. Let's take an overview of all the games.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
Wrath of the Righteous is the sequel to Kingmaker. It promises higher stakes, as the player travels to the Worldwound in order to battle the demons that have invaded the rift. You will be able to lead an army with new tactics and have 10 companions who will join you in battle. These are just a few of the 25 classes and 12 races, as well as tons of customization options and abilities that will allow you to continue your classic Pathfinder combat (albeit with a turn-based option). Pathfinder - Wrath of the Righteous will be released on September 2 and for the PC.
WRC 10
Although Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is still a year away from release, Nacon has WRC 10 due to be released on September 2nd globally (September 7th in North America). The sequel will include many historical cars such as the Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta Group A and Rally de Catalunya. This is to commemorate the World Rally Championship's 50th anniversary. WRC10 will be available for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in the coming days. This is a significant improvement on last year's version.
F.I.S.T. F.I.S.T.
TiGames' F.I.S.T. While Forged in Shadow Torch might not break the Metroidvania mold, its action looks great. Players control Rayton, an ex-soldier who is trying to save his friend. He has a Drill, Whip, and a mechanical Power Fist at his disposal. These can be used to create some amazing combos. F.I.S.T. has a beautiful, grungy aesthetic and lots of places to explore. For genre lovers, Forged in Shadow Torch is worth checking out when it launches on September 7th for PS4, PS5 or PC.
The Ultimate Colors
Sonic Colors 2010, which is an excellent Sonic game, will be getting a remastered rerelease. The Ultimate version of Sonic Colors is available for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 7, 2010. It features Sonic and Tails travelling to Doctor Eggman’s Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park in order to rescue the Wisps. There are various mechanics such as drifting and boost that can be used in this game. Sonic has eight abilities that can be used by the Wisps. These include drilling through the ground or transforming into a laser. You can expect improvements in frame rate and resolution as well as the Jade Ghost Wisp and Rival Rush, which are used to race against Metal Sonic.
The Artful Escape
After many delays over the years, The Artful Escape finally released its first video in March 2017. One Francis Vendetti, a musical platformer adventurer, sets out to make his debut under the tutelage of his legendary uncle. He struggles to find his identity. He embarks on a psychedelic journey through musical landscapes using his guitar to battle foes and platform them. The Artful Escape will launch on September 9th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and iOS. It features stunning art and sound-tracked music that is richly infused with epic themes.
Life is Strange: True Colors
Life is Strange Returns and this time empathy is your superpower. For Alex Chen, True Colors' protagonist, it's more complicated. She reunites with Gabe in Haven Springs. Gabe's death in an accident causes the community to lose its scenic beauty and strong spirit. Alex has the ability to see emotions in different colors and investigates his death. It is available on September 10th for Xbox One and PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Randomly Lost
Lost In Random looks at first like an action-adventure title with a Tim Burton-esque aesthetic. It centers on Even, who explores the Kingdom of Random in order to save Odd. Even must participate in board-style games to win in Random. Dicey will be there to assist her - attacking enemies will give it the power and unleash its unique cards, including explosives and barriers. Lost in Random will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on September 10th.
NBA 2K22
Another year, another NBA 2K title and while I'm personally not a fan of the series microtransaction-laden gameplay, there is quite a bit that's new in NBA 2K22. The gameplay is changing, including precision jump shots, blocking, and more. MyNBA is back with customizable features, while MyWBNA is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PS5. MyCareer's The City has expanded, while Hidden Talents offers alternative ventures such as fashion and hip-hop. The 2K Cruise is available for PS4, Xbox One and Switch players. It offers exclusive Excursions and events at various locations. NBA 2K22 launched on September 10 th th s Xbox Series X/S. It's available for Xbox One, Xbox One and PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. We won't have long to wait to see what it offers.
Tales of Arise
Tales of Arise is the latest title in the Tales series. The story is about the Rena denizens subjugating Dahna and enslaving its citizens in order to exploit their resources. Alphen is a Dahnan man with no memories. Players join Shionne of Rena to embark on a mission to liberate the oppressed. Players will be able to meet other players and travel the world while learning new skills such as Counter Edge and Boost Strike in the overhauled combat system. Skits are back, as well as activities like farming and fishing. Tales of Arise will be available for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on September 10th. It is also available for PS4 PC and PS5 and promises to last about the same length as Tales of Berseria (which I think is a great thing).
Deathloop
Do you ever feel like something is happening? Colt Vahn felt it was yesterday that he arrived on Blackreef in order to kill the Visionaries. They are a mysterious group who use the island's technology to party forever. Colt must kill all his targets by midnight. He will use a combination of stealth, firearms, and abilities to do so. Agent Julianna is either an AI or a player controlling Colt and tries to protect the loop. Deathloop, which will be released on September 14th on PS5 and PC, promises to bring a unique twist on the roguelite game genre with Arkane's sandbox gameplay and rocking aesthetic.
Aragami 2
Lince Works' Aragami2 is a continuation of the original. Shadow control and stealth are key elements. Players have greater freedom and more opportunities to stealthily travel the globe, whether they are playing solo or with three-person teams in co-op. There are many abilities and powers available. Combat has been made more skill-focused, though it is still riskier than stealth. Aragami 2 will be available on September 17th for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It features extensive customization, better visuals, and a more engaging story.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Ember Lab's action adventure game is finally out. It will be available for download on September 21 for PS4, PS5 or PC. Kena, the spirit guide in Bridge of Spirits travels to a village to help the spirits of the dead to the afterlife. Kena will be able to meet the Rot, a small spirit that will assist her in solving puzzles and fighting off enemies. Bridge of Spirits has a relaxing animated aesthetic and solid gameplay.
Lake
Lake is an indie adventure by developer Gamious that will take players on a more grounded escape. It releases September 1 st. You play Meredith Weiss and travel to Providence Oaks, Oregon, for two weeks. While you are on sabbatical from your job as a software developer, you will be delivering the mail. You can talk to the residents and have fun, or you can stay home and read. This will allow you to experience different storylines and help to determine your future path. Lake is a great option for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
Diablo 2: Resurrected
After the failure of Warcraft 3: Reforged (not to mention tons of controversy at Activision-Blizzard), Diablo 2 is next in line to be remastered. While the visuals are vastly improved, the original aesthetic is still maintained as players explore Sanctuary to defeat the evil forces. This game is now more accessible than ever thanks to cross-progression, 4K resolution and quality of life features such as auto pick-up gold and Shared Stash tabs. However, it still retains the action RPG feel that many players grew up with. Diablo II: The resurrected will be available on September 23 rd, for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
Sable
Shedworks' Sable is another interesting title in the "chill adventures" genre. It will be available for Xbox Series X/S or PC on September 23rd. The story features Sable, who sets out to complete the clan's rites of passage by finding a mask. Sable will ride her hoverbike and explore strange ruins, while she forges her own path.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Sam and B.B.'s journey together was a satisfying one. The journey of Sam and B.B. ended with Death Stranding last year. The Director's Cut, which will be available for PS5 on September 24, shows that there's still much to do. The new tool includes a Buddy Bot that can carry Sam, thrusters to ensure safe landings from high places, and a Fragile Circuit that races with leaderboards and time trials. There's also a Firing Range that allows for practice drills and Ranked Drills, replays for boss fights, and more story content that promises stealth-based action. These new graphics modes include native 4K/60 FPS, upscaled 4K/60 FPS, and support for DualSense's adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. There is also an option for PS4 users to upgrade to the Director's Cut digital Deluxe Edition on PS5 at $10.
The Lost Judgment
What is justice? Takayuki Yagami, a former lawyer and private detective, seeks to answer these questions while investigating a bizarre murder. Lost Judgment has players going undercover at Isezaki Ijincho. While there are many activities such as drone combat, boxing and dancing, the game also highlights themes of abuse and bullying. The sequel improves upon the original in many ways, including a new combat style, parkour for platforming and better chase sequences. It will be available on September 24 th for Xbox Series X/S and PS4, PS5 or Xbox One.
New World
Despite the many delays that have occurred over the years, including one in September from August to September, there is still a lot of enthusiasm for Amazon's New World. The MMO is a bit different from other MMOs. It focuses on interactions between the three factions of Aeternum Island. The island is full of unique secrets and PvE content. Players will be spending time building settlements, fighting other factions, and establishing their own foothold. The game will be available for PC on September 28th, with a beta version on September 9th. However, it remains to be seen if the momentum can continue after launch.
Hot Wheels Unleashed
Milestone's Hot Wheels Unleashed might not look the most real-life looking racer, but it looks to be the best Hot Wheels title. It features over 60 cars from real-world to fantasy vehicles like the Batmobile or Knight Rider. There are many twisting tracks that turn in real-world environments. You can also use the track builder to create your own courses or challenge other players online. Split-screen is also possible. Hot Wheels Unleashed will be available on September 27 th, for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7,
XuanYan Sword 7 was released last October on PC. It offers hack-and-slash RPG action set against the backdrop of Chinese mythology. Taishi Zao fights monsters and tries to uncover the mystery behind a mysterious bamboo slip. Players can also create their own techniques and use the fast-paced combat to take down foes. It's a unique option that you might consider, and it will be available on September 31 .
