Healthy Homemade Khakhara Recipe
Hello, everyone!
There is so much awareness about health and fitness nowadays. People have become health conscious, especially girls who are very particular and want to remain slim and trim. But one thing I would like to clarify petite body doesn’t assure a healthy body. Your energy level tells you how fit you are. It would help if you had the energy to remain active throughout the day and take the day’s challenges, which comes by eating healthy homemade food.
Cooking is my hobby, and I feel terrific about making healthy food for my family and friends and love to share the recipes. I will be sharing some healthy recipes with you, which are very easy to make at home. I am particularly concerned about working ladies who don’t get time to cook and rely on cooks in the morning. I will share some easy-to-make healthy recipes which working women can make on weekends and enjoy with the family.
I am sharing a unique healthy recipe. My first healthy recipe is Multigrain spinach Gujarati khakhras.
This quantity of ingredients can make up to 10-11 khakhras
Ingredients
- Multigrain flour (1part of each wheat flour, Soya flour, barley flour, Jowar flour, Ragi flour)-1-1/2 cup
- Spinach leaves-100 gm
- Carum seeds (Ajwain)-1/2 tsp
- Haldi-1/2 tsp (Optional)
- Oil-3tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Mix salt, carom seeds in the flour. Wash spinach and chop thinly. Put 2tsp oil and knead into a soft dough. Cover with the damp kitchen towel and keep it for 15 minutes.
Now take the small portion of dough and roll it into a very thin disc (like chapatti) as thin as paper. Heat the Tawa it should not be very hot. Put the chapatti on the Tawa and cook on low flame. Press the chapatti either with a potato masher or with a kitchen towel. Keep rotating the chapatti & brush little oil on both sides and cook on both sides till it is lightly brown and crisp like papad. Cool and store it in an air-tight container.
You can eat khakhras as it is or with any dip, pickle, jam, chutney, or peanut butter. It is very healthy and good to carry along when you travel. Carry them to the office and eat them as your mid-day meal.
P.S- You can make various combinations the same way like Methi Khakharas, garlic khakhras, masala khakhras, etc. You can take only wheat flour or can take a combination of any flour according to your convenience, taste, and availability.
