Death Stranding Director’s Cut - 10 Features You Must Know

Death Stranding was a pretty unique game, to say the least, and though there were many who just couldn't gel with the game, there were quite a few people who absolutely loved the experience that Kojima and his team had crafted. Death Stranding will soon receive a Director's Cut launch for the PS5. This version promises many improvements and additions that will further refine the original game. We have less than a month before the launch of Death Stranding Director’s Cut.

NEW TOOLS

Death Stranding Director’s Cutis introducing a variety of new tools for delivery. Some of these are very interesting. The cargo launcher does exactly what its name implies, it launches parcels through the air over great distances. The Support Skeleton makes it easier to transport heavier cargo. A new pair of boots has been added that will increase fall damage. Death Stranding Director’s Cut can ensure that players have more freedom when it comes to handling their deliveries, with a wider range of tools. This could make the game significantly better. Bike riders will be more efficient when jumping across chasms thanks to ramps, boosts, and other such features.

BUDDY BOOT

The Buddy Bot is another delivery tool being added to Death Stranding. It's easy to remember its name, but Buddy Bot will be more than just a delivery tool. Buddy Bot can run alongside Sam, carry quite a lot of parcels, and Sam can also jump on the bot and ride on its back. This could be useful for when you are traversing treacherous terrain. The Buddy Bot also has the obvious benefit of being able to transport more items at once.

COMBAT IMPROVED

Death Stranding left a lot to be desired in combat. It wasn't the type of game that combat should be an integral part of the experience, but it was a good start. it will be making some improvements with theDeath Stranding Director's cut. First and foremost, melee attacks will be expanded with more attacks and finishers. A mounted machine gun and other new weapons are on the horizon, too.

FIRING RANGE

The firing range is another way Death Stranding Direct's Cut puts more emphasis on combat. This area is where you can practice firing weapons and run practice rounds. The best part is that the Director's Cut also offers competitive multiplayer elements, with leaderboards and high scores at the firing range.

NEW MISSIONS

This is, undoubtedly, one of the most important points. In addition to making small improvements and changes, Death Stranding Direct's Cut will also introduce completely new Delivery Missions. Based on what we have seen, these are quite different from what you might be used to from the base game. Stealth seems to be a bigger focus. We've seen Sam sneaking through a labyrinthine facility surrounded by guards. It's unclear if this is just one mission's theme, or a new approach that all of the new content takes. But we sure hope so.

AUTOTHER IMPROVEMENTS

The Director’s Cut has some other incremental improvements that are worth mentioning. You can now listen to a variety of new songs whenever you are in a private area. Fragile Circuit is a racing minigame that allows you to drive cars and bikes through a track against other players or perform tricks and stunts. Players will be able to visit older bosses anytime. This is because there will be leaderboards and high scores.

PC CONTENT

Death Stranding is not the first re-release. It has been previously brought to PC by 505 Games, Kojima Productions and Half-Life-themed quest rewards. This content will also be available in Death Stranding director's cut. Although it isn't a large amount of content, it's still a nice bonus.

MODELS

You can also choose from one of the graphics modes, depending on your preference for resolution or frame rate. Performance mode will allow the game to run at an upscaled 4K with up to 60 frames per seconds, while fidelity will use a native 4k at lower frame rates. Both modes will support HDR. Although it is disappointing that ray-tracing isn't being implemented, we hope visual improvements in other areas can make up for the loss. Death Strandingwas an already excellent looking game on a basic PS4, so we are excited to see what improvements it makes on the PS5.

PS5 FEATURES

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will also make use of the PS5’s hardware in other ways. It has been confirmed that DualSense will support adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Particularly, haptic feedback seems like a feature that would really shine in a game like death Stranding,so it's worth keeping an eye on how that will be implemented. Sony confirmed that the game will offer 3D audio support, but it is not yet available.

PRICE

Sony's pricing for games on the PS5 has been a topic of heated discussion in recent times. Death Stranding Direct's Cut very much falls within that category. This is a great thing. However, Death Stranding owners who have the game on their PS4 will not be able to upgrade for free. You'll need to pay $10 more to upgrade to the Director’s Cut.
